I do a small amount of website design in my spare time, i like the templates from places like Template Monster, and i am thinking about buying some templates from there. Would you say that some companies will buy from places like template monster and then edit it to the clients liking?

Can i do this, or is it wrong?

Most website companies buy templates form other sites, as this is quicker cheaper and easier. If you buy the templates aswell, you are also purchasing a license for that template and you can change the template to suite your needs not a problem….

My aunt asked me to design a website for her new business and she said she would pay me to do it, but I really don’t have any idea of how much to charge her. It is a five page site. How much would you charge? Flat price for the whole thing, or an hourly rate?

I do my own web designing for some people at school, when I do there myspace I charge about $ 30 per page, but my friend does web design and he charges 400 for a basic template and 500 or more for a custom site

When you hire a web designer to do your job for you, you are doing more than just handing over the “dirty job” to someone else. In fact, by paying a little money, you can let the designer worry about the little annoyances that always evade the main picture and only come haunting when you’re halfway through the job. That way, you will be more focused and have more time to spend on your actual business strategy.

Look at their portfolio of sites. Ask for references from customers and then call or email the references. Ask what kind of tech support they offer- if there is a problem with your site, how long does it take them to get back to you and to fix the problem.

Since I am not a web designer what I need is just one friendly tool to design my own website, something which contains maybe a gallerie with predesigned templates, video tutorials etc. It should support Greek Language for the website. Payment is not a problem since you can’t have it all…
